The Cornish Rex is a lean, muscular cat. These cats stand tall on elegant legs with neat oval paws, and have long
expressive tails
They have a flat skull with a straight profile, and large upright ears set high on their head, giving an alert expression. But the most singular characteristic of the Cornish Rex is its coat, which has no guard hairs. It is very soft and wavy, with a texture almoste like crushed velvet. The amount and type of curl in the coat can vary, even inbetween the kittens of one litter, from a very close tight curl to a softer, more deeply rippled effect. Some kittens and young adults take longer then others to develop their curls, and may reach 18 months or so, before their coat has fully developed. Even their whiskers and eyebrows are curly.
Temperamentally most Cornish Rexes are loud, vocal, social cats which thrive on company. Most do not do well in homes where they are the only pet and are left alone for long periods, as they are likely to become lonely, bored and miserable. They are lively and energetic and tend to be everywhere and allover the place. They love to be involved in everything their owners are doing, "helping out" and commenting.
When living with a Rex you are never alone!
